Back in February, I posted a short write-up on my then-new Roomba vacuum. It's still doing the job for me, on dirt patrol every other day in various rooms.

Now, St. Pete Times photographer Thomas M. Goethe puts his Roomba to the test on his cat-infested house. Already Goethe is one-up on me: When I first bought mine, I mentioned the wish for having a cat or other pet I could freak out with the new toy.

The newspaper review matched mine pretty closely. The Roomba does the job it's supposed to do. At this point, it's a mundane part of my schedule: Set Roomba loose in a room before leaving for work in the morning, then come home at night to empty it and recharge it.
