drug school
It's been rumored for years, and now it's official: Drugstore chain Eckerd Corp. is being sold by corporate parent JCPenney, splitting the assets between CVS and Jean Coutu Group. As a result, the Eckerd brand will eventually disappear.

No word yet on if my alma mater will be changing its name to CVS College.

Kidding, of course. There's no official connection between Eckerd Corp. and Eckerd College; the unofficial connection is that Jack Eckerd gave a ton of money to the college and therefore got his name hooked up (displacing the original name, Florida Presbyterian College). If nothing else, when the Eckerd Drugs name finally disappears, Eckerd students won't be presumed to be studying toward being pharmacists.
