NASHVILLE'S CATFISH CAPERS
gimme fish
You gotta love the ingenuity of Nashville Predators fans who have begun a tradition of flinging a whole catfish onto the ice after the first Preds goal. Sure, they took the idea from the Wings; and sure, the fish are gross and slimy. But it makes for a colorful night at the game. Maybe even a malodorant one, if you should happen to find yourself seated next to a potential catfish-chucker:

"We've been trying to figure out what they carry those things around in," Predators left wing Jim McKenzie said. "Wouldn't they go home smelling like whatever they're throwing?"

I bet you too would like to get into the fish-flinging act at your favorite NHL arena. Just be sure you're using your state's official fish (Canadians, you're on your own).
