Sun just won't give up on Java. It is pretty much giving up on keeping it on the desktop, but only because mobile devices seem to offer a more open range, despite the threat of Microsoft's intrusion.

One can only hope that the Java-powered future doesn't result in a bunch of phones with operating systems that crash 3 or 4 times a day. The concept of having to reboot your freakin' phone disturbs me (in fact, several higher-end phones now on the market feature a reboot button).
