I usually don't read William Safire other than a quick skim, depending on subject. But his take on the recent Bloomberg capitulation in Singapore was compelling enough for me. Good piece.

I find it interesting that Bloomberg News Service is responsible for this (admittedly, probably slight and not widely consequential) restriction of media freedom, at the very same time that the company's founder is serving as mayor of the city that practically created freedom of the press.
